Juan Torres Jr., 26, of Bridgeport, was scooped up by agents from the Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit around 12:40 p.m. Thursday after receiving a tip he would be delivering heroin at the McDonald's on East Main Street, said Capt. Richard Conklin.
Agents were able to get information beforehand regarding Torres including his picture and the make of his car, said Conklin.
After staking out the restaurant, cops only had to wait a short while before Torres pulled into the lot to make the drop. Officers moved in, blocking in his car.
"As officers were blocking in his vehicle, they could see that he was reaching behind as if he was trying to conceal something," Conklin said.
Once officers had Torres out of the vehicle they uncovered 102 envelopes of heroin and $604 in cash, Conklin said.
The heroin mixed in different batches by strength and ingredients included the stamps "Take Over" and "Heavy Duty," he added.
Torres was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell, and driving with a suspended license.
"Once again the unit does a great job," Conklin said. "I'm so proud of these guys."
Torres is being held on $25,000 bond with a court hearing scheduled for May 3.
